![]() ![]() Taps are measured by inertial motion sensors inside the computer and are converted into scrolling actions for the menus and systems in the TDC-3. Either one or both methods can be used to navigate the menu system. The TDC-3 uses two buttons, and has 4 way tapping built in. I find this to be an excellent training tool for beginner technical students. Having 4 sets allows you to enter your dive plan and your contingency plans (too deep, too long, and lost deco). The computer allows 4 sets of stops to be defined. The TDC-3 operates in Bottom Timer mode, but allows the user to program their own set of stops and times that they have generated using their offline dive planner. I have also used the OpenSource SubSurface and the Subsurface-mobile app. ![]() If you have the OSX application, data synchronizes using your Apple iCloud or Dropbox account. This is an amazing standalone dive logbook application for iOS and OSX. If you have one of the great SCUBAPRO dive computers, I encourage you to look at MacDive for iOS. To put it bluntly… SCUBAPRO LogTRAK is not worth the memory it consumes on your iPhone or iPad. You need to download the data again if you want it in the desktop application. I guess one could excuse such a featureless application if one could use the full desktop application to fill in the missing details, but that simply is not an option. The SCUBAPRO LogTRAK application is also available for OSX and Windows computers, but don’t expect any of the information uploaded in the iOS application to synchronize with the desktop application. Even entering the amount of weight you wore on the dive is missing in this terrible app. The SCUBAPRO Galileo HUD supports GPS at the surface so one would think this would be an excellent way to automatically update the location of your dive, but no location data is transferred. LogTRAK does not download any cylinder pressure data, nor does it even allow you to enter it manually within the app. LogTRAK will download Heart Rate information for the small number of users that use the SCUBAPRO Heart Rate Belt but for the large number of users using the SCUBAPRO Smart+ Transmitter for wireless air integration, they are out of luck. LogTRAK for iOS does download basic dive information (Depth, Time, Temperature, etc.) but it is the information that it does not download that ruins this mobile application. The G2, A2, and HUD are excellent dive computer products, but SCUBAPRO has hobbled them with a terrible dive logbook solution. ![]() SCUBAPRO has done just that with their LogTRAK for iOS product. It always amazes me when a large company creates an excellent product and then pairs it with a useless mobile app. ![]()
